Self-care is a 24/7 mentality

Hi there.
Welcome back you gorgeous human being!
This week's concept is very fun to talk about!
Self-care.
Self-care is talked about a lot.
'Protect your energy, take time for you, relax and meditate. Have a bath. Do something for you'.
Blah blah blah.
I mean totally it is important to do these things. I am not undermining it because I am a product of these activities.
How do you self care?
I am going to tell you now exactly how to do that.
*drumroll*

Stop believing in self-care as a time allocated activity.
That is how you self-care.
I no longer believe in a self-care day.
I used to have self-care days like once a month (no joke!)
'I am so excited for my day off to chill, Cannot wait to spend some me time'
Old naive me thought this was acceptable.
Why would you allocate an hour or a day of a week or month to self-care?
Why do you even think life is meant to be about working working working and not caring for one self all the time.
Why do we even think it is right to be counting the days until we have some 'time off'.
Wishing the days away...I find it upsetting I used to think this way.
And I find it even more upsetting that 95% people in the world still live this way.
We know our bodies physiologically are designed to be in a relaxed state most of the time (think like a caveman). We spent historically most of the time away from danger and time with family (to breed and be with offspring)
We would enter into fight/flight mode for a short period of time when we need or want something (as cavemen/cavewomen we would hunt for food or run from danger).
So all in all, as humans we are meant to be relaxed like 99% of the time and the 1% of the time we need to be able to make quick decisions and be in an adrenaline state of mind to survive.
Society can feel like an adrenaline filled world. But it doesn't have to be like that.
You have got to think differently. You have got to believe your world is defined by you.
Self-care is a mentality not an activity.
When you wake up to start your day, the first thing you do should be something you love doing.
That might be snoozing your alarm clock and having that 10 minute nap before you get your ass in gear. (That's me I love a morning snooze)
It might be a playlist you like listening to when you are brushing your teeth and showering.
It might be writing what you are grateful for in your gratitude book.
It might be saying 'I love you' to someone.
It might be going for a run.
It might be eating your breakfast in bed.
Whatever it is, you should always be self-caring.
Charge yourself up the way you want to and however you want to.
And when energy is low, re-charge yourself exactly the same way you re-charge your phone.
If you could see your human battery level, you would highly value self-care
So go on, I dare you to switch that beautiful brain of yours to caring for you all the time.
I love caring for me. You know why?
Because I can care for others so much more compassionately
Because I can be more efficient in whatever I put my work into.
Because whatever I achieve, it is of high quality.
Start loving to care for you
You caring for you starts to rub off on others to do it too.
Lots of love to you
